BUSHTON — Roy Lynn Ramsey, 60, of Bushton, Kan., passed away April 1, 2025, at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, Kan. He was born Aug. 24, 1964, in Hoisington, Kan., the son of Stanley Eugene and Shirley (Ireland) Ramsey.
Roy was a near lifelong Bushton area resident, having lived several years in Holyrood. He graduated from Quivira Heights High School, with the class of 1982 and received his machinist certification from Salina Vo Tech. Roy was an equipment operator for many years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bushton. Roy volunteered at the Holyrood Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, playing cards, and loved cooking, especially smoking meats.
On March 9, 2025, Roy was united in marriage with Cyndi Aumiller in Bushton.
Roy is survived by his wife, Cyndi Ramsey of Bushton, Kan.; mother, Shirley Ramsey of Bushton, Kan.; two stepchildren, Taylor Bisterfeldt of Bushton, Kan., and Samantha Bisterfeldt of Little River, Kan.; brother, Dennis Ramsey and wife Kimberlee of Bartlesville, Okla.; sister, Susie Rippel and husband Stan of Bushton, Kan.; one niece; and three nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Stanley “Red” Ramsey.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Bushton-Farmer Township Cemetery, Bushton, with Pastor Diana Webster officiating. Visitation will be from 2 until 7 p.m., at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present from 5 until 7 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Salina Regional Health Foundation, First United Methodist Church, Bushton (for the basement floor project), Holyrood Fire Department or Holy NameCatholic Church in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
