Stanley Dewayne ‘Stan’ Lamb

Stanley Dewayne ‘Stan’ Lamb, 77, passed away April 16, 2025, at his home in Great Bend, Kan. He was born on Jan. 5, 1948, in Pratt, Kan., to Raymond and Della (Smith) Lamb. On Dec. 18, 1966, he married Kathy Gabriel in Great Bend.

A lifetime resident of Barton County, Stan worked in many roles for Natural Gas and Pipeline, including operator and water technician. He proudly served the country in the United States Army, earning a Purple Heart for his service during a tour in Vietnam. Stan was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, VFW Post 3111, and National Watch and Clock Collectors Society. He had the amazing ability to fix anything, and was a talented craftsman, known for his woodworking and clock work. Stan was kind and patient, always willing to help anyone in need, but also had an onery side to him.

Survivors include his wife of the home; son, Scott (Manda) Lamb of Tonganoxie; daughter, Debra (Kelly) Higgins of Birmingham, Ala.; six grandchildren, Sean Lamb, Bethanny Lamb, Ethan Lamb, Jared Higgins, Karson Higgins, and Jenna Higgins; one great grandchild, Wrenley Higgins; two brothers, Marvin (Dorothy) Lamb of Topeka and Steven Lamb of Great Bend; three sisters, Leona Newcomb of Strong City, Lola Lamb (Jerry Bombas) of Rose Hill, and Marcia (Rusty) Harrell of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Harold Lamb, Richard Lamb, and Ronald Lamb.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2025, at First Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Josh Foster presiding. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, with military honors presented by Ft. Riley Honor Guard. Memorials have been designated to the First Church of the Nazarene, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
