Waneta Mason, 89, passed away June 17, 2025, at Azria Health in Great Bend, Kan. She was born Oct. 11, 1935, in Squires, Mo., to Arthur and Dollie (Morrison) McKnight.

Waneta made Great Bend her home in 1989. She worked as a housekeeper in the hotel industry. At home, she put her creative side to work making quilts for loved ones and doing woodworking. She loved spending time with family and playing a friendly game of cards. 

Survivors include daughter, Linda Kowalsky of Ellinwood; son, Harold Mason of Hoisington; several grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Fletcher and Opal Ferguson; son, Loren Whisnant; daughters, Wanda Lee, Roberta Nelson, and Alberta Hart; two grandsons; two granddaughters; and one great grandson. 

The family has chosen cremation. Services are pending at this time. Memorials have been designated to the Waneta Mason Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
