To the editor,

Thank you to those that made Kids Ag Day a successful, informative, fun day for approximately 375 Barton County 4th graders. 

This event could not take place without the 100+ volunteers, sponsors, and the Chamber Ag Committee. Hats off to the many young volunteers that were available and for their businesses that allowed them to be present.

It was a perfect morning on the Koelsch Farm. Thanks to High Plains Farm Credit for providing breakfast to the volunteers and guests present at 6:30 a.m.

A special thank you to the teachers that bring their students out to a new environment this early in the school year, before the teachers’ goals and expectations are firm in the minds of the students.

Thank you to the county’s USD administrators for recognizing the value of Ag education as a part of the students’ curriculum. We all must be reminded to thank our farmers and ranchers!
