DODGE CITY — Hutchinson Community College ended Barton Cougar softball season with a 9-5 losers bracket final at the Region 6 softball tournament. Barton finished with a 29-20 record.

Barton's Allyson McDougal singled in Leslie Ramos in the first inning. Chloe Enslinger drilled a 3-run fourth-inning homer to score Aly Lawrence and Allyson McDougal. Ramos scored on another Lawrence seventh-inning single.

Hutchinson (44-10) responded with nine runs off Barton pitcher Brooklynn Angielski (8-9). Madis Divis homered, doubled and drove in three runs. Olivia Sandoval drove in two runs.

HUTCHINSON 16, BUTLER 4 — Hutchinson (45-10) routed Butler 16-4 and 12-3 to capture its first NJCAA Tournament softball berth since 1987. The Jayhawk champion Grizzlies finish 47-10.

Hutchinson's Madi Divis, Brooke Backhaus and Annie Kealey each drove in three runs. Korri Lies drove in two runs.

BARTON 7, DODGE CITY 3 — Barton earned a Sunday showdown with Hutchinson with a 7-3 victory. 

Lawrence delivered a first-inning RBI for a 1-1 tie. Elina Bartlett homered to ignite a 5-run second inning. Lani Dryden, Ramos, McDougal and Lawrence earned RBIs for a 6-1 lead. McDougal added a fourth-inning RBI.

BARTON 5, COLBY 4 (10 innings) — The Cougars rallied from a 3-0 deficit. Ramos hit a game-winning sacrifice fly to score Mia Mascarenas in the 10th inning.

Lawrence drove in Lani Dryden for a fifth-inning run. Bartlett saved the Cougars' season with a 2-out, 2-RBI single to score Ramos and McDougal for a 3-3 tie.

HUTCHINSON 4, BARTON 3 — Hutchinson's Brie Brawner doubled in Korri Lies with the game-winning run. Blue Dragon reliever Morgan Tomlinson threw 42/3 shutout innings.

Barton led 3-2. Mikaila Herring, Cameron Pelzel and Lani Dryden drove in runs.

Brawner drove in three runs. Lies scored three runs. Brooks Backhaus drove in a run.
