Cougar women lose two
DENISON, Texas — Collin County, Texas overwhelmed Barton Cougar women 66-36 and Grayson County Texas hustled past the Cougars 63-50 in the Grayson Basketball Classic.
COLLIN COUNTY 66, COUGARS 36 — Collin used a 30-2 scoring run to bust the game open for a 39-13 halftime lead. The Cougar women tallied the sixth-lowest scoring total on record.
Regina Donanu led the Cougars with 12 points. Collin's Sara Basaran contributed 11 points and 13 rebounds.
GRAYSON COUNTY 63, COUGARS 50 — Barton battled No. 21-ranked Grayson College before falling 63-50.
Alaina Eck led the Cougars with 21 points. The Cougars made 16 of 58 field goals, 6 of 26 from long range.
Grayson led 30-27 before pulling away. Madison Martin led Grayson with 15 points.
The Cougars travels to St. Petersburg, Fla. Friday and plays Hillsborough, Fla.
