Seward County returned the favor and swept Barton’s baseball team by identical 5-4 scores.

SEWARD 5, COUGARS 4 (G1) – Seward’s Cameron Cartwright scored on a 10th-inning sacrifice fly by Keagon Pitton for a 5-4 victory.

Seward’s Trenton Rowan singled home Cartwright for a 1-0 lead. After a 1-1 tie, Mason Hagel-Pitt delivered an RBI for a 2-1 lead.

Barton responded with two third-inning runs for a 3-2 Cougar lead. Hagel-Pitt doubled home Cartwright and Rowan for a 4-3 fifth-inning lead.

Barton tied it 4-4.

SEWARD 5, COUGARS 4 (G2) – Hagel-Pitt’s RBI single drove home Sergio Castro for the game winning seventh-inning run.

Barton led 2-0 after three innings.

Hagel-Pitt drilled a 3-run fourth-inning homer for a 3-2 lead. Barton regained the lead 4-3 with two fourth-inning runs.

Kaden Juarez’s RBI single tied it 4-4 in the sixth inning.
