Allie Smith sparks Otis-Bison girls

OTIS-BISON GIRLS 47, NATOMA 35 — Otis-Bison's Allie Smith scored a career high 24 points as the Cougars outscored Natoma 23-7 in the fourth quarter for a hard-fought 47-35 non-league basketball victory over Natoma Thursday.

The Cougars used effective full-court pressure to outscore Naoma 19-4 after trailing 31-28. Freshman sparkplug Caitlin Ficken scored nine fourth-quarter points. The Cougars scored 15 points in the final four minutes. Natoma led 28-24 after three quarters. 

Grace Smith and Ficken each delivered a pair of steals that ignited a game-changing 13-0 scoring burst. Allie Smith scored two baskets, Brooklynn Roth one basket and Ficken capped the scoring run with back-to-back steals and scores for a 41-31 lead.

Natoma's Sophia Robison and Lucy Alexander each scored 11 points.
