Bucklin sweeps Kinsley/Macksville

BUCKLIN — Bucklin squeezed out a hard-fought 3-1 opening baseball victory over Kinsley/Macksville and made things easy with a 19-2 victory in Thursday's second game.

BUCKLIN 3, KINSLEY 1 (G1) — The trio of Woodrow Lancaster, Joshua Stuckey and Cade Chamberlain yielded one earned run and five hits. A trio of errors handed Bucklin two unearned runs. 

Bucklin's trio of pitchers combined to yield one hit. Lancaster's fourth-inning double scored Joey Preito after a walk. Kinsley's other threat was stopped when Joseph Marquez struck out and Stuckey flied out to strand two baserunners.

Bucklin's Easton Huck scored on a third-inning error. Wiley York homered in the fourth inning. Isaac Girl reached on an error and scored on Huck's bases-loaded sixth-inning walk.

BUCKLIN 19, KINSLEY 2 (G2) — Kinsley's pitching and defense collapsed with 17 walks issued along with eight errors that contributed to 10 unearned runs.

Kinsley's Stuckey scored on Kaleb Granger's bases-loaded walk. Lancaster walked and scored on a third-inning error.

Bucklin's Isaac Girl drove home four runs. Easton Huck drove in three runs.
