cHOISINGTON — The Pratt Greenbacks roared to early leads and swept Hoisington/Central Plains 8-3 and 11-2 in Friday's Central Kansas League baseball doubleheader.
Pratt (7-4, 6-0 CKL) drops the Cardinals to 6-3, 1-3 CKL.
PRATT 8, CARDINALS 3 (G1) — Pratt led 6-0 after 31/2 innings.
Caleb Strong scored on a passed ball after he hit an RBI first-inning single. Strong singled in Landon Demuth for a 3-0 lead. Two errors led to Pratt's 3-run fourth inning. Strong, Madden Wilson, Owen Schmidt scored on Josiah Schmidt's double for a 6-0 lead.
Cardinal Brodie Crites scored on a fourth-inning bases-loaded walk to Aiden Hekele. Lane French scored on a groundout.
Pratt's Pore scored on Wilson's fifth-inning single for a 7-2 lead. Cardinal French singled in Brody Corbett in the fifth inning. Pratt's Josiah Schmidt scored on a sixth-inning error to close out the scoring.
PRATT 11, CARDINALS 2 (G2) — Pratt scored nine first-inning runs thanks to five unearned runs off pitcher Aiden Hekele to coast past the Cardinals. Josiah Schmidt drove home three runs with three hits. Strong drove in two runs.
French singled in Brody Corbett in the third inning. Kaidenn Chambers homered in the fourth inning.
