HUTCHINSON — Hoisington's softball team coasted past Nickerson 18-3 and 19-1 at the Fun Valley softball complex. Hoisington (6-0, 2-0 CKL) plays Larned April 7.

CARDINALS 18, NICKERSON 3 — Hoisington's Brynn Tarlton (3-0) threw a no-hitter with nine strikeouts, hit a 3-run homer and drove home five runs.

Reece Alyward homered, scored three runs and drove home four runs. Mary Griffith drove in three runs. Marly Brewer homered.

Nickerson scored three third-inning runs when Tarlton walked three batters and hit a batter.

CARDINALS 19, NICKERSON 1 — Hoisington scored 14 runs in the second inning. 

The Cardinals managed five RBI as the Cardinals scored multiple runs on wild pitches, passed balls and errors. Nickerson yielded 13 walks and committed four errors that led to five unearned runs.

Hoisington's Reese Vaughn drove home two runs. Tarlton, Jaidyn Stevenson and Brewer drove home runs.

Nickerson's Shalie Powell scored on Jayci Terhune's groundball.
