ELLINWOOD — Ellinwood's baseball team rolled past the Minneapolis Lions 16-5 and 13-2 Friday for a pair of run-rule victories. The Eagles are 11-11.
ELLINWOOD 16, MINNEAPOLIS 5 (G1) — Ellinwood's bats were rolling with Cooper Gunn and Shae Hoskins each contributing a trio of runs batted home. The Eagles produced 16 runs in six innings.
Trace Tudor scored three runs with three hits and a pair of RBI. Cohen Gunn drove home two runs. Drake Hosman, Campbell Coleman, Banks Jacobs and Cade Coleman also drove home runs. Jacobs (1-2) pitched four innings with four strikeouts.
ELLINWOOD 13, MINNEAPOLIS 2 (G2) — Trace Tudor drove in five runs with a trio of hits to spark the Eagles.
Hosman, Cohen Gunn and Hoskins each drove in a pair of runs. Jacobs and Cooper Gunn each drove in one run. Pitcher Cooper Gunn (2-0) yielded zero earned runs in four innings.
