ELLINWOOD 56, VICTORIA 42 — Look out Central Prairie League, the Ellinwood boys are red hot. The Eagles earned back-to-back upsets with a 56-42 victory over Victoria in Tuesday's Central Prairie League showdown.

Eagle Layton Wirtz kept the momentum from Monday with a career high six 3-pointers and 18 points. Austin Brack added 10 points. The Eagles converted 10 3-pointers for 30 points. The Eagles outscored the Knights 33-27 after halftime.

Victoria's Weston Scherrer scored 13 points and Cody Schmidtberger added 12 points.

Victoria (10-6, 3-3 CPL) played a triple overtime game Monday at Otis.

ELLINWOOD GIRLS 68, VICTORIA 29 — Julia Schlessiger scored 25 points to spark the No. 2 ranked 2A Ellinwood Eagles past Victoria 68-29 in Tuesday's Central Prairie League basketball game.

Mette Maxwell scored 12 points and Bryn Widener added 10 points for the Eagles (16-1, 7-0 CPL). The Eagles made five 3-pointers.
