ELLINWOOD GIRLS 62, ELLIS 17 — The No. 4 state-ranked 2A Ellinwood girls cruised past Ellis 62-17 in a dominating non-league basketball victory Friday.
Mette Maxwell scored a career high 21 points with 10 field goals. Reese Stickney (13) and Julia Schlessiger (10) scored in double figures. The Eagles (7-0) led 27-9 at halftime and outscored Ellis 35-8 after halftime.

ELLINWOOD 54, ELLIS 47 — After a stretch of hard-luck basketball setbacks, Ellinwood's teamwork paid off with a 54-47 non-league basketball victory Friday that will help coach Jaron Lane celebrate the Christmas season in good cheer with his first victory of the season.
Ellinwood's Drake Hosman (16), Layton Wirtz (12) and Luke Heinz (10) scored in double figures. Ellinwood (1-6) outscored the Railroaders 16-7 in the decisive third quarter. The Eagles converted six 3-pointers.
