WAKEENEY — Ellinwood's runner-up  McKena Parker (110) joined 3rd-place Jenna Borror (135); 7th-place Alexandria Gonzalez (115) and 8th-place Cambree Erb (140) as state qualifiers at the 3-1A WaKeeney wrestling regional.

Smith Center's Kaleigh Ochoa pinned Parker (1:25) in the regional championship match.

Stafford's Trynity Pope (170) returns to the state meet after placing fourth.

Ellinwood's girls (641/2) placed 11th. Russell's (211) won the team championship ahead of Norton (172). 

Ellinwood and Stafford will compete Feb. 27-28 at Hays 3-1A state tournament.
