Ellinwood JV places third

KEARNEY, Neb. —The Ellinwood Eagles junior varsity volleyball team placed third in the Nebraska-Kearney team camp. Ellinwood’s tournament run culminated in a hard-fought semifinal loss against the division’s eventual undefeated champions.

The Ellinwood girls competed against experienced varsity and junior varsity squads from Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, South Dakota and Nebraska.

The Ellinwood girls posted a 10-6 record in pool play in the highly competitive B Division to earn a spot in the Gold Bracket. Their consistent performance and hustle on the court showcased the depth and determination of this young team.

“This group continues to grow with every game,” said Ellinwood volleyball assistant coach Cami Thomas. “We’re incredibly proud of the way they battled all weekend. Their teamwork, energy, and commitment are setting the foundation for a great upcoming season.”

Thomas said the team built momentum from a summer full of challenges and achievements. She's anxious to see the Eagles gear up for fall competition.
