Ellinwood wins Great Bend tennis title

The Ellinwood Eagles win the team title at the Great Bend tennis tournament.

2A Ellinwood (34 points) swept both doubles divisions to edge 6A Garden City (30 points) at Saturday's windswept Great Bend tennis tournament at Shannon Schartz courts.

No. 1 doubles Ty Hammeke/Ethan Schlochtermeier defeated Garden City's Kevin Nguyen/Aston Palmer, 8-6 and No. 2 doubles Dominic Martinez/Brayden Robl defeated Scott City's Carson Bennett/Brant Powelson, 8-4 in championship matches.

Hoisington's No. 1 singles Jasper Pawlowski defeated Garden City's Zane Storer, 8-3 and Hoisington's No. 2 singles Brody Rossman defeated Ellinwood's Grey Ringwald 8-6 in championship matches.
