ELLINWOOD — Ellinwood's baseball team outscored Ellis 10-6 after losing the opener 3-1 to split Tuesday's twin bill.

The Eagles are 9-11 and Ellis is 14-8.

ELLINWOOD 10, ELLIS 6 (G2) — Ellinwood pitcher Drake Hosman (5-1) yielded zero earned runs in 42/3 innings with three strikeouts. Banks Jacobs drove in three runs. Shortstop Shae Hoskins turned a second-inning double play.

Hosman scored on Jacobs' single and Campbell Coleman scored on Trace Tudor's sacrifice fly for a 2-0 lead. Hosman scored on Cohen Gunn's single to ignite a 4-run third frame. Cohen Gunn and Campbell Coleman scored on a Jacobs' groundball that was misplayed. Gavin Kubick scored on Cooper Gunn's single for a 6-2 lead.

 Campbell Coleman singled in Hosman for a 7-6 lead. Hopkins scored on a bases-loaded walk, Alvin Bowyer on a hit better and Cade Coleman scored on a wild pitch in a 3-run fifth. 

Ellis' Chance Jimenez drove in two runs.

ELLIS 3, ELLINWOOD 1 (G1) — Ellis converted an error and two walks into a pair of seventh-inning runs for a hard-fought 3-1 victory.  Maddux Reese scored on a bases-loaded walk. Gavyn Wildeman scored on Austin Lopeman's single.

Ellinwood's Hosman scored on a Campbell Coleman first-inning single. Aiden Aschenbrenner scored on a Wildeman single.  Eagle pitcher Trace Tudor (2-5) held Ellis to one run through six innings.
