ELLINWOOD — Ellinwood pitcher Bennett Jacobs (10-10) earned a pair of wins to help power past Ness City by identical 17-1 scores to win the battle of softball Eagles Thursday.
The Eagles featured an 11-run inning in the opener and a 16-run inning in the nightcap.
ELLINWOOD 17, NESS CITY 1 (G1) —Ellinwood's Shyria Quintana and Jenna Borror each drove home a trio of runs. Kyndal Moore and Jenaveve Franco each drove in a pair of runs.
Also driving home runs were Jacobs, Kennedy Behnke and Ali Gonzalez. Jacobs yielded two hits.
Ness City's Ashlyn Tillotson scored a run.
ELLINWOOD 17, NESS CITY 1 (G2) — Ellinwood's Behnke led a 13-hit attack with a pair of doubles and four runs batted home.
Gonzalez and Rylan Allen each delivered a pair of RBI. Quinata homered and Moore also drove in a run.
Ness City's Karrlee Lonnberg scored a run. Rilan Turner had two hits.
