ELLINWOOD — Ellinwood pitcher Bennett Jacobs earned a pair of hard-earned wins as the Eagles edged Lyons/Sterling 9-7 and 4-3 in Tuesday's softball doubleheader. 

ELLINWOOD 9, LYONS 7 (G1, 8 innings) — Shyria Quintana's 2-run Homer scored Kennedy Behnke for a thrilling 9-7 victory. Ellinwood (7-7) drops Lyons to 2-8.

Jacobs threw four shutout innings after yielding seven unearned runs. 

Alexis Martinez singled in Kennedy Grizzle and Sierra Belote for a 2-0 lead. Jacobs scored on a groundout for a 2-1 score. Lyons' Tiffany Cereceres scored on an error and Jocelyn Vargas scored on a Grizzle single for a 4-1 lead.

Ellinwood used three walks and an error for a 5-run second inning. Rylan Allen scored on Behnke's single. Jenna Borror scored on a passed ball. Behnke scored on Quintana's triple. Quintana scored on a wild pitch for a 6-4 lead.

Belote scored on an error and Martinez scored on a groundout for a 6-6 tie. Grizzle scored on a wild pitch for a 7-6 lead. Jacobs scored on an error for a 7-7 tie.

ELLINWOOD 4, LYONS 3 (G2) — Ellinwood's Jacobs and Behnke scored the go-ahead runs on a Lyons error for a 4-3 victory. 

Quintana singled home Behnke for a 1-0 lead. Grizzle scored on Belote's triple for a 1-1 tie. Jacobs scored after three errors for a 2-1 lead. Martinez scored on a Cereceres single for a 2-2 tie.

Quintana's fly ball was misplayed and Jacobs and Behnke scored sixth-inning runs. Vargas scored the Lions' final run on a wild pitch.
