HILLSBORO GIRLS 43, HOISINGTON 28 — Hillsboro outscored Hoisington 13-0 before halftime and coasted past the Cardinals 43-28 in Monday's Central Kansas League basketball game.

Hoisington's Tianna Lutters and Kelsi Maier each scored eight points. Addison Hanzlick hauled down nine rebounds. Brynn Tarlton had two assists. Kinley Wilkens and Hanzlick each had two steals. The Cardinals had 22 turnovers.

The Trojans (11-7, 4-2 CKL) converted 8 of 15 3-pointers. Ella Potucek scored 15 points with a trio of 3-pointers and Amyah Werth added 13 points. The Trojans started with a 9-0 scoring run and ended the half on a 13-0 run.

Hillsboro converted 3-pointers against a variety of Cardinal defense. The Cardinals played zone and man at the same time, straight man defense and a 1-3-1 zone.

"Hillsboro has a lot of players who could hit 3s. We switched defenses," said Hoisington coach Trina Lutters. "When Hillsboro was a run, they had good luck. They're hard to cover. We played zone, man and a mix of zone and man defense. Potucek's a good player."
