LINDSBORG — Hoisington/Central Plains' Rhen Galla contributed five RBI as the Cardinals swept past Smoky Valley 8-2 and 16-1 in Thursday's Central Kansas League baseball doubleheader. 

The Cardinals (13-7, 9-7 CKL) drops the Vikings to 4-17, 2-14 CKL.

CARDINALS 8, VIKINGS 2 (G1) — Hoisington pitcher Lane French (4-1) struck out seven batters and permitted one earned run.

Galla drove in three runs. Marcus Ingram, French, Kaydin Umphreys and Tyrus Penka drove in runs. Galla's 2-run single scored Umphrey and Brody Corbett in a 3-run second inning. Ingram singled in Brodie Crites and Teron Kraft scored on French's triple in a 3-run third frame.

Vikings Ty Heitschmidt and Corbin Pywell each drove home a run. 

CARDINALS 16, VIKINGS 1 (G2) — Hoisington's Penka (4-1) permitted zero earned runs and struck out four batters in four innings. The Cardinals ended the game with a 6-run fourth frame.

French and Umphrey led a 12-hit attack with three RBI apiece. Galla added a pair of RBI. Ingram, Kaidenn Chambers, Aiden Hekele and Penka each drove in one run.
