HILLSBORO (6-3) at HOISINGTON (8-0) — Hoisington's offense has scored at least 70 points four times entering Friday's second-round 2A playoff game against Hillsboro.

Cardinal backs Taylen Morales and C.J. Bryant and quarterback Mason Martin headline a high-powered offense. Versatile defender Brody Pfannenstiel has led an aggressive defense. 

"We need to play as well as we can and play at our highest level," said Hoisington coach Zach Baird. "It's a team effort with guys playing well. We feel good about the way we're playing, but one bad game can end your season. We want to continue to get better."

Hillsboro outscored Ellsworth 18-3 after trailing 14-0. Hillsboro's Braxton Heibert's receiving touchdown was followed by an 86-yard touchdown run by Jesiah Gooch, who rushed for 112 yards. Zayne Haslett's 32-yard score made it 18-17.

Hillsboro blocked a pair of Kyler field goal attempts in the fourth quarter.
