Great Bend all-stater Ian Premer and quarterback Daxton Minton sparked the Panthers to a 28-0 halftime lead over WIchita Bishop Carroll Friday night.
The Golden Eagles battled to a 0-0 tie after one quarter. The Eagles reached the Panther 3-yard line, but a holding flag nullified a pass to Nathan Goertz. Carroll's Hank Hartman missed a 36-yard field goal.
Premer and Minton took charge. Four offensive plays later, the Panthers roared to a 21-0 lead. Premer rumbled 75 yards on the first play of a second quarter drive. Minton's 34-yard run was followed by Premer's 8-yard touchdown run.
Minton raced 59 yards on a perfect cutback run for a 21-0 lead keyed by Jacob Hall's crushing block on Keatyn St. Vrain.
Koehn Ribordy had an interception nullified on a penalty. But Cooper Ohnmacht followed with an interception that set up a closing 63-yard scoring drive. Premer rumbled 16 yards for a key first down. Minton snuck over the goal-line from the 1-yard line.
Premer rushed for 122 yards and Minton gained 113 yards for a 230-yard ground game. Minton threw for 31 yards.
