Coyotes sweep doubleheader

KINSLEY — The Kinsley/Macksville baseball team rallied from a 6-2 deficit for an 11-9 second game victory after winning the first game 7-1 over Sylvan-Lucas.  

KINSLEY 7, SYLVAN 1 (G1) — Kinsley pitchers Kendall Grippin (4-0) and Woodrow Lancaster combined for a solid one-run effort with eight strikeouts.

Joshua Stuckey, Lancaster, Trenton Anderson and Anthony Meza drove in runs. Stuckey scored on an error and Anderson scored on Anthony Meza's groundout.

Anderson's single scored Lancaster in a 5-run third inning that featured three errors, three walks and a hit batter. Anderson and Meza scored on errors. Devin Murrow and Joey Prieto scored on bases-loaded walks for a 7-1 final

Sylvan's Cale Meier scored on Cody Charvat's single.

 KINSLEY 9, SYLVAN 7 (G2) — Kinsley took advantage of six walks, two hit batters and two errors that led to five unearned runs.

Diego Esparza and Lancaster scored on passed balls. Down 6-2, Kinsley's Stuckey scored on a wild pitch to start a 2-run third inning. Lancaster scored on Parler Burr's single.

In a 4-run fourth, Prieto scored on Stuckey's single. C Meier and Esparza scored on Lancaster's double for a 7-7 tie. Lancaster scored on Grippin's fly ball for an 8-7 lead.

Sylvan tied it 8-8 on an error.

Stuckey scored on a groundout after his single scored Esparza for a 10-8 lead. Burr scored Kinsley's final run on a wild pitch for an 11-9 final.
