Indians surprise Haven baseball

HAVEN — Larned exploded for a 6-run fifth inning to spark a shocking Central Kansas League doubleheader sweep over Haven 8-6 and 7-2. Larned (6-6, 5-3) passes Haven (8-4, 6-4 CKL) in the CKL standings.

INDIANS 8, HAVEN 6 (G1) — Reese Morgan delivered a 2-run sixth-inning single that scored Anthony Gonzalez and Corbyn Nance to snap a 6-6 tie.

Larned rallied with a 6-run fifth inning. Deacon Martin hit a sacrifice fly. Tristan Regan's single scored Nance and Carson Shaver. Regan scored on Morgan's single. C Spreier and Mason Miller scored on wild pitches for a 6-2 lead.

Haven's Dalton Bontrager and C Schoenhoff delivered 2-run hits for a 6-6 tie.

INDIANS 7, HAVEN 2 (G2) — Larned's Carson Shaver struck out seven batters in four shutout innings for a 7-2 victory.

Reese Morgan drilled a 3-run double to score Shaver, Martin and Regan in a 4-run first inning. Morgan scored on an error. Gonzalez scored in a wild pitch. Morgan's groundout scored Regan. Regan scored on a passed ball.
