Larned softball splits with Cimarron

CIMARRON — Eowyn Hedding, Brooke Simmons and Jadyn Crosby each drove in four runs to spark Larned past Cimarron 22-7 to earn a split of Monday's softball doubleheader. Cimarron won the opener 6-5.

LARNED 22, CIMARRON 7 (G2) — Larned secured the victory with a 7-run seventh inning after scoring 14 runs in the first three innings.

Hedding, Maya Wilson and Simmons each delivered four hits. Wilson drove in three runs. Teagan Walker and Karley Lemuz had three hits.  Jillian Hagerman and Crosby each had two hits.

Cimarron pitcher Q Campbell walked five batters and the Bluejays committed five errors that led to nine unearned runs.

CIMARRON 6, LARNED 5 (G1) — Larned rallied for a 5-1 deficit for a 5-5 tie, but Cimarron's D. Kugler scored on A Randa's game-winning single.

Larned's Hagerman scored on Gillian Smith's double to ignite a 3-run seventh inning. Smith scored on Hedding's single and Hedding scored on a wild pitch for a 5-5 tie.

The Indians led 1-0 when Hedding scored on Walker's first-inning double. Down 5-1, Smith scored on Wilson's fifth inning single.
