WICHITA — Great Bend's three-time 5A state qualifier Zoey Mayberry (576, 190-181-193) earned 10th medalist honors Wednesday at the 5A girls state bowling championship.

"Overall, I scored about my average," Zoey Mayberry said. "I didn't do what I wanted, but top 10, I'm not going to complain about that."

Mayberry ended with a trio of strikes in her third game.

"I did a good job picking up spares and ended with three strikes," she said. "I had a few splits, and you can't do anything about that."

Zoey Mayberry had previously placed sixth (591) and 13th medalist honors (565) at 5A state bowling for the Panthers, who captured the 2023 and 2024 girls state bowling championships.

Great Bend's Brooklyn Mayberry earned 18th-medalist honors (544, 182-172-190) with three consistent games.

"Overall, that's my highest score this season," Brooklyn Mayberry said. "The shot was pretty consistent today, I didn't have to move my spot. I just left a few 10 pins."

Salina South's Callie Vargas earned the 5A state championship (679, 268-217-194). Wichita Carroll won the state title with Maize South placing runner-up.
