Oilers capture Ellsworth tennis title

ELLSWORTH — Central Plains captured a trio of first-place medals to win Tuesday's Ellsworth tennis title with 64 points.

No. 1 singles Camden Stiles, No. 1 doubles Peyton Dody/Paxton Dody and No. 2 doubles Nethan Cauthon/Alden Metro placed first.

In title matches, Stiles defeated Sterling's Jace Darnauer, 8-5; Dody/Dody downed Ellinwood's Ty Hammeke/Ethan Schlochtermeier, 8-5 and Cauthon/Metro defeated Ellinwood's Dominic Martinez/Brayden Robl, 8-3.

Phillipsburg's No. 2 singles Cash Roth downed Ellinwood's Grey Ringwald 8-2 for first place. Ellinwood placed runner-up with 45 points.
