ASHLAND/BUCKLIN 54, OTIS-BISON 52 — Otis-Bison tailback Gavin Alloway scored six touchdowns in a heroic effort, but the Cougars lost 54-52 on a 6-man football heartbreaker to Ashland/Bucklin Oct. 18. The Cougars drop to 3-5.
After trailing 30-6, Ashland/Bucklin outscored Otis-Bison 48-22 to steal a wild 54-52 victory over the Cougars. Ashland/Bucklin outscored the Cougars 36-14 in the final 17 minutes. Ashland/Bucklin won the game despite missing all nine extra points conversions.
The lead exchanged hands five times in the fourth quarter.
Quarterback Ethan Bates raced 15 yards for the game-winning touchdown with 15 seconds left, marking the second time the Cougars lost in the final minute. Ashland/Bucklin scored on the final play of the first half, marking the second time that's happened to the Cougars.
Alloway scored on runs of 3, 5, 9, 37, 38 and 38 yards. Aiden Ochs-Lohrey added a 15-yard touchdown run. Kicker Ricardo Martinez converted five 2-point kicks.
Ashland/Bucklin's Bates completed four touchdown passes and scored a trio of rushing touchdowns on runs of 10, 15 and 55 yards. Miles Haskell caught 8, 21 and 26-yard scoring receptions and added a 5-yard score. Garret Landis caught a 20-yard touchdown reception.
