The Shawn Behr softball era at Great Bend enjoyed a rousing debut.

Great Bend roared past Dodge City 25-0 and 15-0 for a pair of run-rule softball victories at the Great Bend Sports Complex. First-game pitcher Chayla Prendergast struck out eight batters in a 3-inning no-hitter.

Second-game pitcher Braelyn Turner struck out five batters with a 1-hit shutout.

Great Bend (2-0 WAC) travels to Hutchinson High Friday.

PANTHERS 25, DODGE CITY 0 (G1) — Prendergast struck out eight batters. Dodge City's Kaitlyn Thompson grounded out to shortstop Baze Hogan as the lone Red Demon to put a softball into play.

Great Bend scored 13 runs in the first inning and 12 runs in the second inning.

Callie Umphres drove in three runs. Kya Behr, Alyssa McCauley and Denver Ringo all doubled and each drove home two runs.

Camden Post and McCauley each scored four runs. Behr scored three runs.

PANTHERS 25, DODGE CITY 0 (G2) — Panther pitcher Turner yielded a single to Dodge City's Anayah Heredia. Turner doubled and drove home three runs.

Katherine Mazouch and Post each drove in two runs. Ringo scored three runs. Post, Mazouch, McCauley and Umphres each scored two runs.

The Panthers scored six runs in the first inning and eight runs in the third inning.
