TOPEKA — Great Bend qualified three relays and three individual qualifiers for the 5A state swimming championship Friday and Saturday.
Great Bend qualified for Saturday's consolation finals with a 14th-place finish (1:51.84) in the 200-yard freestyle relay with Meredith Mazouch, Clarise Snapp, Darcy Feist and Josephine Mazouch. The Panthers were just off their season-best time.
Josephine Mazouch placed 20th in the 50-yard free (26.94) and 100-yard freestyle (59.41). Clarise Snapp placed 20th in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:20.83).
Great Bend finished 21st in the 400-yard freestyle relay and 26th in the 200-yard medley relay. All three relays qualified for state at the Salina meet.
