Panther girl bowlers sweep Hays Indians 13-0

Great Bend's girls, the reigning Western Athletic Conference champions, rebounded from a loss to Garden City with a 13-0 sweep of Hays High Monday at Walnut Bowl. The Panther boys beat the Indians 9-4.

Great Bend's medalist Zoey Mayberry (573) fired games of 195, 204, 174 to edge her sister Brooklyn Mayberry (492) off games of 160-181-151. Abigail Alvarez (459) placed third with scores of 157-160-142. The Panthers posted scores of 641, 717 and 621 in series games.

Panther runner-up Xander Orth, 547 (202-155-190) finished ahead of third-place finisher Brantley Vsetecka, 543 (182-173-188). Hays High's William Clark earned medalist honors at 568 (196-151-221).

Great Bend's boys swept the 3-game series, but the Indians rallied for a 4-game sweep of Baker games with a 748 total that beat the Panthers 646 score. Hays High's William Clark (568) earned medalist honors with scores of 196-151-221.
