RUSSELL 22, CARDINALS 12 9 (G1) — Russell's baseball team scored 14 runs in its final two at-bats for a wild 22-12 victory over Hoisington in Tuesday's non-league doubleheader. Cardinal pitchers walked 16 batters and hit four Broncos for 20 free baserunners.

The Cardinals led 9-8 after an 8-run fourth inning. Marcus Ingram drove in three runs. He doubled home Corbyn Holinde and Brodie Crites in an 8-run fourth inning. Brody Corbett's 2-run fourth-inning homer scored Ingram.

Crites, Rhen Galla, Kadin Umphrey and Holinde each drove in one run. 

Russell's Sam Theilen homered twice and drove in four runs. Max Evans doubled twice, tripled and drove home four runs. Evans ripped a 3-run double. 

RUSSELL 12, CARDINALS 2 (G2) — Russell earned a sweep with a 12-2 victory in Tuesday's second game.

Hoisington's Crites scored on Kadin Umphrey's first-inning sacrifice fly. Ryker Stout scored on Layton Hoffman's second-inning groundout.

Hoisington's pitchers yielded 12 earned runs with 12 walks and three hit batters for 15 free baserunners.

Russell's Trey Korn earned the pitching victory and drove home three runs. Jared Ford drove in two runs. Kooper Hamlin homered.
