ST. JOHN 54, KIOWA COUNTY 51 — St. John's Emmett Delp blocked a shot and Wyatt Mawhirter sealed a 54-51 victory over Kiowa County with two free throws in Friday's non-league basketball game.

Kiowa County's Sawyer Campbell missed twice and Brock Deterding missed once on 3-point attempts to tie the score 51-51 in the final minute.

St. John's Delp made one free throw and Mawhirter sealed the deal for a 53-48 lead. Delp scored 12 points and Reyes added 10 points. Boone McDonald scored 20 points for the Mavericks.

ST. JOHN GIRLS 43, KIOWA COUNTY 14 — St. John's Gentri Bright and Lydia Reed each scored 10 points as the No. 5 ranked 1A Tigers rolled past Kiowa County 43-14 in Friday's non-league basketball game. The Tigers led 26-2 at halftime.

Kiowa County's Makenzie Gilkey scored eight points.

Spearville led 45-7 at halftime.
