St. John runner earns medalist honors

STAFFORD COUNTRY CLUB — St. John freshman Quade Smith (18:45.42) continues a strong season with a first-place finish at Monday’s St. John Cross Country Invitational at the hilly Stafford Country Club course. Smith edged Central Plains runner-up Payton Ryan (18:46.19). Macksville’s Jesse Nava (20;13.26) placed sixth.

In the girls division, Macksville’s Madison Butler (21:55.99) placed third and Larned’s Teagen Walker (25:00.41) placed ninth. Sterling’s Faith Ekart (21:16.89) earned medalist honors.
