STAFFORD 59, ASHLAND 34 — Stafford sophomore Jace Kreutzer scored the first 10 points as the Trojans rolled past Ashland 59-34 in Tuesday's basketball season opener. Kreutzer converted a pair of 3-pointers in the opening quarter and finished with 16 points.

Stafford's Ricardo Cecchin scored 10 points and Jacob Johnson and James Engelbrecht added nine apiece. The Trojans converted eight 3-pointers.

ASHLAND GIRLS 55, STAFFORD 32 — Stafford's Emily Delgadillo scored 11 points and Peyton Roush added nine points in a 55-32 loss to Ashland in Tuesday's basketball season opener. The Trojans led 7-0, but were outscored 55-25 after a brilliant start.

Ashland's Jayla Walker scored 19 points and Molly Harris added 13 points. The Bluejays took control with 13-0 and 18-0 scoring streaks.
