Tiger track qualifies five

SOUTH CENTRAL GIRLS 49, ST. JOHN 41 — Coldwater South Central outscored St. John 18-3 on 3-pointers to down the Tigers 49-41 in Saturday's 1A Spearville basketball substate.

Channell Blundell, Cashton Leeper and point guard Bretlyn Westrup each scored 12 points. The Timberwolves converted 6of 12 3-pointers, two by Blundell in the fourth quarter. South Central played superbly to lead 31-13 before the Tigers controlled the tempo the rest of the way.

St. John's Jalyn Fisher and Lily Brummer each scored 13 points. Leading scorer Reagan Bonner scored nine points. The Tigers closed within seven points in the fourth quarter.
