SCOTT CITY 14, HOISINGTON 7 (no contest) — Scott City's Peyton Bergner started with a lightning bolt on an opening 88-yard kickoff return against Hoisington Friday night.

The Cardinals responded on C.J. Bryant's 27-yard touchdown run. Bergner delivered an 8-yard scoring run for a 14-7 lead.

Actual lightning forced a no-contest that won't be resumed when the teams played into the second period.

ELLINWOOD 21, OSAWATOMIE 0— Ellinwood's Austin Brack was a 1-man wrecking crew with a trio of touchdowns, including a 95-yard scoring dash for one of the longest touchdowns in Eagle football history. Brack leaped into the air and avoided a tackle by Osawatomie's Kashton Palmer on his 95-yard scoring dash.

Ellinwood led 21-0 after one period when the game was stopped by lightning.

KINSLEY 64, ST. JOHN 14 — Kinsley's Woodrow Lancaster scored five rushing touchdowns to spark a 64-14 football victory over St. John in Friday's Central Prairie League showdown. Lancaster scored on runs of 3, 5, 12, 16 and 25 yards. 

Kinsley quarterback Josh Stucky converted scoring runs of 1, 2 and 10 yards. Joey Preito caught a game-ending 27-yard scoring pass from Stucky for a 50-point victory. The Coyotes led 38-14 at halftime after converting a fifth first-half touchdown after a Tiger pass interference penalty.

St. John quarterback Braxton Alpers scored on a 16-yard run and completed a 12-yard scoring pass to Jace Reyes.

Braddix Bozarth rushed for 114 yards and scored on a 41-yard run. Javier Talamantes scored on a 69-yard run.

Cougar receiver Travis Ross scored on 20- and 23-yard touchdown passes. Otis-Bison halfback Aiden Ochs-Lohrey scored on an 11-yard run and rushed for 89 yards. Ochs-Lohrey caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Firebaugh.
