The Larned Community Center was transformed into a glittering “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” celebration named “Denim & Diamonds” on Saturday, Oct. 24. It was Pawnee Valley Community Hospital’s annual charity event, with a Western theme, and those in attendance looked the part in denim and sparkle.
Attendees showed up in boots, cowboy hats, denim and other Western attire to celebrate, donate, bid on items in a silent auction and participate in a live auction of items donated by many area businesses and individuals, all in a good-spirited effort to support Pawnee Valley Community Hospital.
Following a catered dinner, Chris Froetschner of Carr Auction and Real Estate served as auctioneer and led the spirited bidding for many items. A DJ provided music throughout the evening and led the crowd in dancing after all of the auctions concluded.
Allisa Spain, director of marketing and foundation at PVCH, took time to recognize the numerous businesses and individuals who helped sponsor the event. Diamond Level sponsors were Central Kansas Crop Solutions, Innovative Livestock Services Inc., Country Living of Larned, Hays Medical Center and Pawnee Valley Community Hospital.
Rhinestone Level sponsors were Fusion Bank, Larned Eye Health, Larned State Hospital, Great Bend Tribune, Haynes Electric, 100.7 Eagle Country, Carr Auction & Real Estate Inc. and Equity Bank.
Beckwith Mortuary was recognized as a Denim Level sponsor. Classic Level sponsors were Golden Belt Telephone, Pawnee County Coop Association, Ad Astra Radio-Larned, El Dos De Oros-Larned, Taco Bell, High Plains Farm Credit, Farmers Bank & Trust and Midwest Energy.
