Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! Today marks not just the end of the month but also the final day we are accepting summer reading minutes from teens and adults. Make sure you don’t forget to turn yours in and miss out on the chance to win some fabulous prizes.
Today is also the last day of our Friends of the Library summer book sale. Browse our selection of books, movies, puzzles, and more to add to your home collection for dirt cheap prices. Interested in becoming a Friend? Ask for an application when you’re done shopping.
Our Community Afghan Silent Auction continues through the end of this week. Interested bidders can stop by the library to bid on the blanket made with donated granny squares from our wonderful patrons. We are pleased to share that 100% of the proceeds from the auction will go to the Community Food Bank of Barton County. As a place of public service, we feel this is a great opportunity for us to both work with and give back to our community.
We owe a huge thank you to everyone who offered the time and materials it took to make this happen. If you would like to support this project and bid on the afghan, not only could you take home a one-of-a-kind, handmade piece, but you’ll also aid a great cause, helping neighbors in need and spreading warmth in more ways than one.
