The Center announces Community Art Gallery

The Center for Counseling & Consultation is inviting local artists, community members, and classrooms to participate in a powerful new addition to HopeFest 2026: a community art gallery titled “Because Every Story Deserves to Be Seen.”

This unique gallery experience will feature artwork that explores themes of mental health, healing, resilience, struggle, growth, recovery, and hope — creating space for individuals and groups to share their stories in meaningful and creative ways.

“Art has a way of expressing what words sometimes cannot,” said Sara Arnberger, marketing & communications director for The Center. “This gallery is about honoring those experiences, creating connection, and reminding our community that every story matters.”

The call for artists is open to individuals of all ages, including local artists, clients, and classroom submissions ranging from daycare and preschool through college-level classes. A wide range of mediums will be accepted, including painting, photography, mixed media, sculpture, poetry, and fiber art.

While the topic of mental health can sometimes be expressed through darker or heavier themes, artists are encouraged to keep in mind that selected artwork will be displayed in a public, all-ages environment. Submissions that reflect hope, resilience, and the possibility of growth are strongly encouraged as part of the overall gallery experience.

Select works will receive special recognitions, and recognized pieces will have the opportunity to be displayed for an extended period following the event — allowing these stories to continue impacting the community beyond HopeFest.

HopeFest 2026 will take place on Sept. 19 in downtown Great Bend and will focus on connection, recovery, and community well-being.

Submissions are now open and will be accepted through Aug. 1.
