LARNED – A Larned man and former Pawnee County deputy was arrested by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office Friday afternoon on charges related to the sexual abuse of a minor.
The KBI said that at approximately 5:50 p.m., agents executed an arrest warrant for Alexander M. Jacobs, 36, of Larned, in the 300 block of West 4th Street in Larned. Jacobs was arrested for two counts of criminal sodomy of a child, two counts of electronic solicitation of a child, and one count of indecent solicitation of a child. Following his arrest, Jacobs was booked into the Ford County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
The Pawnee County Clerk records indicate that Jacobs was employed by the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Department from March 23, 2015, until January 20, 2025.
A KBI spokesman stated that the investigation is unrelated to Jacobs’ employment and, “at this time, there is no evidence that suggests the alleged criminal activity occurred during Jacobs’ current or former employment.”
On April 10, the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office requested KBI assistance to investigate allegations that a 15-year-old victim had been sexually assaulted in Pawnee County on April 6.
