A Great Bend woman was taken to Logan County Hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries on Tuesday after the vehicle she was riding in went off Interstate 70 and struck a road closure sign in Gove County.

Kansas Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred at 9:08 a.m. on July 29 at the westbound off ramp a mile east of Oakley.

Luis Mario Gonzalez Perez, 17, of Great Bend, was driving the 2018 Chevy Cruze and had no apparent injuries. His passenger, Marissa Ann Esparza, 18, also of Great Bend, was taken to the hospital. Both were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
