Curtis Lynn Nairn, 75, passed away Sept. 7, 2026, at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Larned, Kan. He was born on Sept. 6, 1951, in Great Bend, Kan., to Daryl and Betty (Rose) Nairn. On Sept. 9, 1995, he married Karen L. Herriott in Great Bend.
A lifetime Great Bend resident, Curtis worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 20 years, then worked for KDOT prior to his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved spending time with his family and friends. His family will remember Curtis as a devoted husband, father and grandfather, whom they greatly loved and will continue to miss.
Survivors include his wife of the home for nearly 31 years; daughter, Aleasha L. Pelster (Mark) of Great Bend; three grandchildren, Thomas Nairn, Chelsea Sudduth, and William Sudduth; sister, Caryl Beckman (Tom) of Ellinwood; and nephew, Jason Ward of Great Bend. He is preceded in death by his parents; and stepmother, Bea Nairn.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, with Pastor Micah Powell presiding. His register book will be available to sign now until service time at Bryant Funeral Home.
