Edna Pearl Harper, 89, passed away Oct. 8, 2025, at Azria Health Woodhaven in Great Bend, Kan. She was born Aug. 13, 1936, in Whitewater, to Daniel and Murtle (Laubaugh) Seeney. Edna married William H. Harper, Sr. July 28, 1957, in Newton. They built a beautiful legacy for 66 years until William passed away Feb. 9, 2024.
Edna worked for Fuller Brush as a box maker in the broom department for many years until she retired in January 1988. She loved to bake and share her recipes and delicacies with friends and family. She collected many dolls in her lifetime and valued the beauty and characteristics of each one. She was a faithful member of First Bible Baptist Church. She lived her faith by ministering the gospel and sharing God’s love with others.
Survivors include sons, William ‘Bill’ H. Harper, Jr. and his wife Robin of Oak Harbor, Wash., Robert ;Bob; L. Harper and his wife Pam of McPherson; daughter, Glenda Taylor and her husband George of Mills, Wyo.; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and many friends and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 66 years; daughter, Lori Ann Schussler; brothers, Raymond Seeney, Dave Seeney; sisters, Ruth Chance, Josephine Monty, Waunita Johnson, Virginia Hensler; infant sister, Irene Seeney; and grandson, Thomas Jeffrey Harper.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Gray presiding. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m., at Pleasant View Cemetery, in Elbing. Visitation will be available from noon to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025, with family receiving guests from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home.
