Nathaniel G. ‘Nate’ Larkin

HOISINGTON — Nathaniel G. ‘Nate’ Larkin, 25, died tragically as a result of a motorcycle accident on Oct. 10, 2025. He was born Sept. 5, 2000, in Hoisington, Kan. Nate graduated from Hoisington High School in 2019 and then enlisted in the United States Navy. He served honorably for five years and was recently discharged in January of this year. After traveling around the world with the Navy he returned home to his roots in Hoisington and worked as a diesel mechanic for Kan-Equip.

Nate had a passion for life and lived every moment to the fullest. He was known to always have an upbeat and positive attitude. He had many hobbies, especially anything with wheels and anything to do with hunting. 

Survivors include his mother, Debbie Larkin of Hoisington; sister, Shelby Taylor and husband Zach and nephew, of Kansas City; grandmother, Wanda Schroeder of Hoisington; aunt, Brenda Krumm and cousin, Alex Krumm, both of Chanute; stepfather, Bryan Freeman of Great Bend and stepbrothers and sisters; his many friends, and those he considered his extended family, work family, and church family; and of course, his loyal companion, his dog, Bronchs. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Max Schroeder; and his uncle, Rob Krumm. 

Family will greet friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, at Church of the Nazarene, Hoisington, Kan., with Pastor Don Fisher presiding.
