KINSLEY — Randolph Scott Barnes, 77, passed away Aug. 9, 2026 at Country Living, Larned.
He was born June 23, 1949 in Hays, the son of Robert F. and Alberta E. Rau Barnes.
A longtime area resident, he was a farmer/rancher, and had previously worked in construction. He was a member of the American Legion and was their cook for many years. He was very good at woodworking and mechanics. He liked operating heavy equipment and did a lot of blade work for the area townships. He served in the United States Army/National Guard.
On Oct. 30, 1978 he married Nancy Balman from Burdett. She preceded him in death on July 15, 2025.
Survivors include, sister, Sherry Barnes, Arvada, Colo.; nephew, Jason (Kristen) Fox, Ferndale, Wash.; niece, Courtney (John Hiiva) Fox, Arvada, Colo.; great nieces, Anaya, Maliya, and Layla. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
