She loved boardgames and a good game of cards and would put her poker face to work to win the pot. For two years, she served as City Marshall of Olmitz. She served two years as treasurer for SOS of Larned. She was a member of the Hoisington VFW Auxiliary, Great Bend VFW Auxiliary Post #3111, and Great Bend Eagles Auxiliary, where she held different positions. She farmed for Loyal Otte and the Nordman family. She then went to work for King of the Road doing camper manufacturing. Her training put her in maintenance at Sunflower Diversified Services until retirement.
