KINGMAN — A trio of Great Bend Bat Cat pitchers combined for a 5-0 Jayhawk Collegiate shutout by stranding 14 Kingman Islander baserunners Friday.

Starter Elijah Lang (3-0, 2.84 ERA) and relievers Carter Graham (1.02 ERA) and Lane French (1.29) were flawless with baserunners on base. Lang struck out two batters and French two batters.

Kingman threatened to score by loading the bases in the sixth and eighth innings.

Right fielder Peanut Brazzle delivered the game's key play by throwing out K Wall at home. Reliever Graham retired C Pore and L Parks on pop flies.

Graham retired Parks on a fly out to centerfielder Dylan Sarna to strand three baserunners in the eighth inning.

Lang has 20 strikeouts in 251/3 innings. Graham and French each have 14 strikeouts in 14 innings.

Great Bend (18-5, 16-5 Jayhawk) maintained first place with five runs.

Kirby Orth doubled home Andrugh Yee and Brazzle doubled home Orth in a 2-run fourth inning. T.J. Shaw singled home Brazzle for 3-0 lead.

Chase Kessler's eighth-inning single drove in Brazzle and Cesar Chapman for a decisive 5-0 margin.
